What Makes Clean Recovery Centers Different?
From the beginning 6 years ago, we started out with a goal to make Clean Recovery Centers, located in Tampa, FL, different from other treatment centers. Our thinking was that if we were going to be in the business of helping to “save lives” we should try our absolute best to be the best at it. Though the term “best” is subjective term, that was our goal and continues to be our goal. We also wanted our company name to be not only different but relatable to those suffering from addiction and their loved ones. Hence, the name “Clean.” By our definition, Clean is not only free of substances, but working toward freedom from the underlying causes and the negative effects of addiction on the lives of our clients and their loved ones. Clean is not an objective or destination, but a lifestyle that encompasses mind, body, and spirit.
Clean Recovery Centers started out as an IOP facility. Our focus was on helping those who had been to detox and/or residential programs and were seeking to re-integrate themselves back into society with the skills necessary to maintain their sobriety. With the assistance of Charles Robinson, a 40-year veteran in the mental health and addiction space, we designed an incredibly unique clinical program based upon western and eastern techniques combined with a 12 step approach.
We were excited about how the program worked and decided to expand treatment further to include Day and Night Treatment with Community Housing. We also added residential Mental Health as many people suffering from addiction have underlying mental challenges beyond addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. We did this over a period of 2 years. After which time, we thought it would further enhance our ability to help those suffering by offering the complete spectrum of care so we added a Detox and Residential facility in New Port Richey, FL.

What sets Clean Recovery Centers apart? Outside of our overall program, we believe it is the fact that our owners and over 70% of our employees are in recovery. As such, we have “been there and done that.” We have been to death’s door with addiction. We truly know what it feels like to be in active addiction, what it takes to recover, and what it takes to stay in recovery. But its more than just staying in recovery. Its about learning how to thrive in recovery. To make recovery a better life than most of us could have ever imagined.
As people in recovery, the clients can come to us at almost any time and we will make ourselves available, including our owners. While none of the staff ever attempt to be the client’s therapist, which would be unethical, we can relate in most instances to what the individual is going through. We share our experience, strength, and hope – what is was like, what happened, and what we are like now.
We also pride ourselves in providing excellent services outside of clinical treatment. From the food that is served, to our clients, to their living accommodations, to client twelve step meetings and activities, to transportation and vehicle maintenance, we aim to make provide it all to the best our abilities and that it be of the highest quality we can feasibly provide.
The addiction problem in this country has gotten worse with the pandemic. The associated lockdowns and isolation have led more people than we have ever seen into the living h*ll that is addiction. More adults (18-54 years) died of overdoses from opioids in the last year than died from anything else including car accidents, cancer, etc. More high-quality centers are required to meet this very troubling situation. We are pleased to announce that Clean Recovery Centers facilities will be opening in Sarasota this year. God willing, we will have all levels of care available in Sarasota by the end of 2022.
The results we have seen have been impressive. We track outcomes and are bolstering those efforts. We can actually see the improvements clinically and that is very satisfying for all of us. That said, we have just begun. Our goal is to constantly improve the program and our efforts to reduce recidivism.
